about

"Babylon will fall" is a colourful and diverse World Music album that is taking us into 10 very different universes. Draska continues the concept of the debut album "Along the way" by blending ancient traditions of West Africa with Western urban poetry. Traditional West African Instruments like the N'goni, Calabash and Balafon presented in new ways.

The Album starts with "Tolon", which stands for "amusement", followed by the afro-pop "Babylon will fall", a song that became indispensable on any Draska Show. "Bana" 's afrobeat heats us up with horn sections and balafon, while "Massa" is taking us back to the melancholic side of Draska, an african at once classical composition underlined by chamber music. With "Gotta be fooling me", Draska gives his message against (post)colonisation. After the deep ballad "Peaceful Remedy" we are driven to "Tunga", which means "adventure", with "Wassoya" we take a fast detour to the Ivoirien Coast style "coupé decallé from where we go to a remix trance version with the "Wassoya Remix. Then it is time to be "Lost in Time" and with "Always on my mind" we find ourselves back on a sofa in our living room.

about

draska Costa Rica

Driven by the force of cultural and musical diversity, Draska blends ancient traditions of West African with Western urban poetry.
Draskas compositions interplay with the richness of the n’Goni, by using pedal effects and altering it’s originally pentatonic scale.
His mellow at once bittersweet voice is melting with the n’Goni and exploring electrifying West African rhythms.
